My favourites from the new ikea catalogue

Being on holiday is amazing, today I had a late and long breakfast reading the new ikea catalogue on the terrace with my brother. Here are some of my favourites from it:

Note that it’s the Swedish version, not sure they have the exact same things but they should have pretty much the same products. Check their website for more info.

Bohemian terrace

I’m at my parents house in the south of sweden. They’ve changed the terrace of the back of the house a bit, the stairs are now towards the west side of the garden and the door to the stairs is an old industrial window. The “wall” next to it is an old door. Next to the stairs there’s a fig tree and there are grapevines under the roof. I love the mix of the industrial window, the vintage door, the oriental candle holder hanging from the roof and the bohemian disorder of baskets in the rattan sideboard.

saturday afternoon with wine, chocolate, kitten and pinterest

After a really though week at work and then a bit dramatic Saturday morning, I don’t feel like doing anything else than mindless pinterest browsing. With accompanying wine, chocolate and kitten cuddling.

Here are some pictures that caught my eye on pinterest today.

Isn’t the one above absolutely amazing? It’s by Denise Grünstein, and there are so many other beautiful photos by her that I found but I’m not sure I’m actually allowed to put them here on the blog (but one won’t hurt if I link to her agency, right..?) There are more here: cameralink, and you just have to check them out.

a visit to Tate Modern – Transformed Visions

I recently visited Tate Modern and I really like the Transformed Visons part with lots of expressive abstract art, which I love.

Gerhard Richter, the six Cage paintings

“Richter’s monumental Cage paintings were completed in 2006 and first exhibited at the 2007 Venice Biennale. Like his earlier squeegee abstractions, they are the outcome of several layers of painting and erasure. Their surfaces are animated by lines where the squeegee has paused, by brushstrokes, other scrapings, and areas where the skin of oil paint has dried and rippled.Richter was listening to the music of John Cage while he worked on these paintings and titled them after the composer.” (text source)

I’d recommend a trip!
